Glen Hills Primary School (along with other schools in the Symphony Learning Trust) intend to offer ITT with the University of Northampton through School Direct PGCE with QTS training places for 2018-19, please get in touch for further information.
Glen Hills Primary School is an outstanding school which has gained an excellent reputation over the years for training and developing teachers. For a number of years, we have worked successfully with Leicester University and their P.G.C.E. and Q.T.S. students. More recently, we have trained GTP students in conjunction with Derby University, many of whom are now employed within our staff.
The schools currently involved in our partnership:
Following the introduction of the School Direct Training Programme, Glen Hills applied to become Lead School with the University of Northampton from September 2014 as we felt we could put our extensive experience into training the next generation of teachers who feel they would benefit from being immersed in high quality and forward thinking, educational establishments. We have a number of specialist teachers at Glen Hills from P.E. to Science.
If you would like to train under the School Direct Programme with a group of fantastic schools who are well established in the field of teacher training, and a University with an extensive wealth of knowledge and quality, then look no further!
There are a number of Primary schools within Leicester and Leicestershire who are part of our School Direct Partnership. We would hope that after your placement we would be able to employ you at one of the following schools should your placement be successful and opportunities arise. However, you will be required to go through the interview process as normal under the 'fair recruitment act'.
Placements offered within our partnership 2018/2019.
